Karma Tamang, a suspect in a criminal case related to the Janajati movement, has been taken into custody by the police in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.
According to Kathmandu District Police Chief Superintendent Dan Bahadur Thapa, Tamang was apprehended around 2 am after being shot in the leg.
Tamang, who was serving a prison sentence, had gone into hiding after being involved in the Janajati movement.
He is currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre for his injuries.
The police had been searching for Tamang, who was accused of being involved in theft and robbery cases.
