Corruption Case Filed Against Forest Office Chief in Nepal

A corruption case has been filed against Ram Kewal Rai, the chief of the Sub-Division Forest Office in Bandipur, Siraha, by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in Nepal.

The CIAA alleges that Rai demanded and accepted bribes from service seekers, causing them distress and engaging in bargaining. The commission has filed a charge sheet against Rai under Section 3 (1) of the Corruption Prevention Act, 2059, seeking a fine of Rs 19,000 and imprisonment.

The case was filed in the Special Court on Monday, Ashar 18, 2083.
