PM Shah: Government Prioritizes Empowering Provinces

Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah has stated that his government has made empowering provinces a top priority. Speaking at a high-level meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singh Durbar to discuss the recent situation in the Tarai-Madhesh region, PM Shah emphasized that the full and effective implementation of the constitution is crucial for the empowerment of all provinces.

He noted that the practice of federalism has been ongoing since the promulgation of the constitution and that the current government is committed to devolving powers to the provinces and local levels. PM Shah also highlighted that the government’s budget is inclusive and aims to benefit all geographical regions, communities, and marginalized groups in the country.

As the head of government, PM Shah reiterated his commitment to treating all Nepali citizens equally and ensuring that the Prime Minister’s Office is accountable to every citizen. He also stressed that the country’s constitution has enshrined fundamental values, democratic systems, the rule of law, and national unity, which cannot be compromised in any way.

‘A strong constitution is the key to a strong future for all Nepalis,’ PM Shah said, calling on all political parties, social and religious leaders, and citizens to stand firmly in favor of restraint, dialogue, and unwavering national unity.

The meeting was attended by several leaders, including Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Upendra Yadav, Lal Babu Raut, Ram Kumar Sharma, and others.
