A large quantity of cannabis was seized by the police in Morang on Saturday, along with the driver of a minitruck.
According to the police, 1,033kg 484 grams of cannabis was recovered from 31 packets hidden in the minitruck with license plate number Ko 1 Kha 4373. The vehicle was stopped for inspection at Urlabari while traveling from Dhankuta’s Pakhribas Municipality-9 to Ambari.
The driver, 28-year-old Umesh Tamang from Pakhribas Municipality-9, was arrested in connection with the seizure.
The operation was carried out by a team of police from the Area Police Office, Sijuwa, and other units.
