Vegetable prices in Nepal have been set for today by the Kalimati Fruits and Vegetables Development Committee.
According to the committee, the maximum wholesale price for various vegetables has been fixed as follows: large eggplants (Nepali) at Rs 50 per kilogram, small eggplants (local) at Rs 20 per kilogram, small eggplants (tunnel) at Rs 30 per kilogram, red potatoes (long) at Rs 52 per kilogram, red potatoes (round) at Rs 53 per kilogram, red potatoes (mudhe) at Rs 53 per kilogram, red potatoes (Indian) at Rs 37 per kilogram, white potatoes at Rs 35 per kilogram, and dried onions (Indian) at Rs 57 per kilogram.
Other vegetables and their prices include: carrots (local) at Rs 110 per kilogram, carrots (Tarai) at Rs 80 per kilogram, cauliflower (local) at Rs 30 per kilogram, cabbage (local) at Rs 120 per kilogram, radish at Rs 30 per kilogram, white radish (hybrid) at Rs 20 per kilogram, long beans at Rs 60 per kilogram, and broad beans at Rs 70 per kilogram.
The committee has also set prices for various fruits, including: apples (Fuji) at Rs 300 per kilogram, bananas (Nepali) at Rs 300 per dozen, bananas (Malbhog) at Rs 200 per dozen, oranges at Rs 200 per kilogram, pomegranates at Rs 500 per kilogram, mangoes (Malda) at Rs 200 per kilogram, mangoes (Dashahari) at Rs 200 per kilogram, watermelons (green) at Rs 70 per kilogram, and jackfruits at Rs 300 per kilogram.
