Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party to Launch ‘Candidate Club’ for Local Elections

Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced plans to launch a ‘Candidate Club’ as part of its efforts to select candidates for the upcoming local elections.

The party’s general secretary, Bipin Kumar Acharya, revealed that the ‘Candidate Club’ will be open for applications from Ashar 1 (mid-July) and will serve as the first step in the candidate selection process.

Acharya stated that the RSP aims to establish a new, more transparent, and scientific system for selecting candidates, moving away from the traditional and often opaque methods used by other political parties.

The party has already begun gathering suggestions from its members, leaders, and supporters to refine the candidate selection process, which will be based on criteria such as leadership skills, public accountability, and moral integrity.

Acharya emphasized that the ‘Candidate Club’ is part of the RSP’s long-term strategy to promote democratic values, good governance, and leadership development at the local level.

The RSP has expressed its commitment to making the candidate selection process more inclusive, participatory, and competitive, and has urged its members and supporters to contribute to the process by providing constructive feedback and suggestions.
