Rastriya Swatantra Party Central Committee Takes 11 Key Decisions

The central committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has made several key organisational and political decisions. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, unanimously nominated Balendra Shah as the party’s senior leader, as proposed by party chairman Ravi Lamichhane.

The meeting also formed the party secretariat in accordance with the party’s constitution. The secretariat will consist of the chairman, two vice-chairmen Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Sobita Gautam, general secretary Vipin Kumar Acharya, and deputy general secretaries Aseem Shah, Hari Dhakal, and Nisha Dangi.

The meeting paid tribute to the citizens who lost their lives in recent incidents in Sunsari and other districts, and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. It also wished for the speedy recovery of injured citizens and security personnel.

The RSP has decided to conduct a detailed review of its first historic general convention and study the entire process to further strengthen the organisation. The meeting also passed organisational documents, including the procedure for conducting meetings, membership, responsibility allocation, and departmental affairs.

The meeting decided to ask aspiring central members and members of the House of Representatives for a six-month work plan with clear objectives. It also arranged for ministers participating in the government to have direct discussions with the central committee at the party office at least once a month to make their performance effective.

With the upcoming local level elections in mind, the party has decided to open applications for the ‘Candidate Club’ from Bhadra 1. The meeting also decided to celebrate International Youth Day 2026 in a grand manner and assigned central member Kavindra Burlakoti as the coordinator.

The meeting decided to establish a mechanism to ensure the regular presence of people’s representatives at all levels of party offices to address citizens’ complaints and facilitate them. It also directed all party members not to share or broadcast sensitive content related to suicide and self-immolation on social media.
