Congress Demands Action Against Attackers of Forest Officer

A delegation from the Chure and Wildlife Conservation Campaign submitted a memorandum to the Nepali Congress central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur, on Wednesday, demanding immediate action against those responsible for the attack on a forest officer in Mahottari.

The team, led by campaign president Sunil Yadav, handed over the memorandum to Nepali Congress chief secretary Krishna Dulal, calling for a fair investigation into the incident, immediate legal action against the perpetrators, and ensuring the safety of forest officers.

During the submission of the memorandum, President Yadav drew attention to the fact that despite the Nepali Congress-led government in Madhesh Province, no concrete and effective steps had been taken to address the incident.

He stated that such attacks on employees working in forest and natural resource conservation pose a challenge to the rule of law and conservation efforts, and emphasized that the perpetrators should not be spared under any pretext.

The campaign has urged the government and concerned authorities to conduct a fair investigation into the incident, take immediate and strict legal action against the perpetrators, ensure the safety of forest officers, and make effective arrangements to prevent such incidents in the future.
