Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has appealed for maintaining social harmony and brotherhood amid rising communal tensions in the country.
In a video message posted on Facebook, Thapa expressed concern over recent incidents of communal unrest in various districts of the Madhes region.
He also criticized the government and local administration for their handling of the situation, citing the loss of three Nepali lives in Sunsari and Saptari, as well as the injury of many others.
Thapa emphasized the need for a credible investigation into the incidents and the formation of a judicial commission to probe the events.
