Nepal Launches Taxpayer Incentive Program to Boost Tax Compliance

Nepal’s government has introduced a taxpayer incentive program aimed at encouraging citizens to pay taxes and promote a culture of tax compliance.

The program, which is set to begin on Shrawan 21, 2083, will provide incentives to taxpayers who make purchases and pay bills online or through mobile apps.

Eligibility and Rules

To be eligible for the program, taxpayers must have a permanent account number (PAN) and make purchases or pay bills worth more than Rs 100. They must also obtain a bill or receipt for their transactions.

The program will be implemented by the Inland Revenue Department, which will select winners on a daily and weekly basis. The winners will receive cash prizes, with one winner receiving Rs 10 lakh every week and another winner receiving Rs 1 lakh 33 thousand 333 every day.
