Nepal Government Urges Formation of Dedicated Courts for Cooperative Scam Cases

The Nepalese government has urged the Chief Justice to establish dedicated courts to expedite the trial of cooperative scam cases. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has submitted a report to the Chief Justice, Dr. Manoj Sharma, requesting the formation of ‘Cooperative Crime Courts’ in districts with a high number of pending cases.

Minister Pratibha Rawa handed over the report to the Chief Justice, emphasizing the need for priority in resolving cooperative sector issues. The report highlights that cooperative crimes have a significant impact on the lives, property, and financial system of the country, affecting a large number of citizens.

The report concludes that dedicated courts with special priority are necessary for the effective and speedy trial of these cases. The government’s move aims to address the growing concerns over cooperative scams and ensure justice for the affected parties.
