Nepal Doctors’ Strike Suspended After Five-Point Agreement

Nepal’s government and the Nepal Medical Association have reached a five-point agreement to address the recent incident of assault on health workers at Narayani Hospital.

According to the agreement, the perpetrators will face action under existing laws, and the government will expedite the process of amending laws to ensure the safety and security of health workers and institutions.

A task force will be formed with the participation of the Ministry of Health and the Nepal Medical Association to implement the agreement.

Following the agreement, the Nepal Medical Association has decided to suspend its strike, which began in response to the incident, and resume regular health services from today.

The agreement aims to improve the safety and security of health workers and institutions, and to prevent such incidents in the future.
