Nepal Army Completes 32 Road Projects, Builds 1,411.54 km of Roads

The Nepal Army has completed 32 road projects, building a total of 1,411.54 km of roads in the country. The projects include the Kanti Lokmarg, Karnali Highway, Jajarkot-Dolpa, Bensi Shahar-Chame, Kaligandaki Corridor, and Karnali Corridor, among others.

The government has entrusted the Nepal Army with the responsibility of building roads in remote and difficult-to-reach areas, including those with challenging geography and harsh weather conditions. Notable Projects

The Nepal Army has recently completed the 10.51 km Khadbari-Kimathanka (Chyamthang-Ghongghappa) road project, which is expected to contribute to local development and future trade activities in the Kimathanka area.

Currently, the army is working on three major road projects: the Karnali Corridor, the Darchula-Tinkar road, and the Benighat-Arughat-Larkhebhanjyang road. The Karnali Corridor project, which spans 682 km from Humla to Bajura, aims to connect the Humla district to the national road network.

The army has also built a Bailey bridge at Chuwakhola in the Simkot Rural Municipality-5 of Humla, connecting the district to the national road network. This project is expected to enhance the country’s economic and strategic importance.
