Hindu Group Submits Six-Point Demand to Nepal Government

A faction of the United Hindu Front has submitted a six-point demand to the Nepal government, calling for the reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu state.

The group, which met with Home Minister Sudhan Gurung in Janakpur, demanded that the government convene an all-party meeting within a month to discuss the issue and introduce a bill to reinstate Nepal as a Hindu state.

The group also demanded a high-level investigation into the influx of Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani nationals and action to strengthen border security.

Other demands included increasing surveillance on mosques and madrasas across the country, investigating foreign and domestic funding, implementing the Supreme Court’s decision on loudspeakers, and removing speakers from mosques.

Investigation into Citizenship Distribution

The group also demanded an investigation into the distribution of citizenship since 2062/63 BS and action against those responsible for the Sunsari incident.

Home Minister Gurung assured the group that the government was positive about their demands and would inform the Prime Minister about the issue.

Following the assurance, the group announced that it would withdraw its protest programs.

Earlier, the United Hindu Front had submitted a 13-point demand to Home Minister Gurung, which included a clear timeline for reinstating Nepal as a Hindu state through an all-party meeting.

The group had given the government three months to address their demands.
