Fugitive Prisoner Caught with Firearm in Chitwan

A fugitive prisoner who escaped from Chitwan Prison Office has been caught with a firearm, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Aitsingh Lama, 45, from Thakaltar, Rapti Municipality-11, was arrested today from his home. Lama had escaped from prison on 25 Bhadra along with other inmates during the Jan-Ji movement on 23 and 24 Bhadra.

Lama was serving a 15-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs 1 million for killing a one-horned rhino and violating wildlife laws. He had been on the run since his escape and was finally caught with a firearm.

According to Chandrabhushan Yadav, Information Officer and Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Chitwan, an investigation has been launched into the matter.
