Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products due to the continuous surge in global market prices. Although the new purchase price from the Indian Oil Corporation has increased, the corporation has made a limited price adjustment considering the interests of consumers.
According to the decision of the corporation’s board of directors, the new prices will be effective from Shrawan 18, at 12:01 am. The price of petrol has been increased by Rs 3 per liter, while the price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 5 per liter. The price of domestic aviation fuel has been increased by Rs 20 per liter, and the price of international aviation fuel (for Kathmandu) has been increased by $131 per kiloliter.
However, the price of cooking gas (LPG) remains unchanged, according to a statement released by the corporation’s spokesperson, Manoj Kumar Thakur. Despite the price adjustment, the corporation is expected to incur a weekly loss of around Rs 1.49 billion.
The corporation has urged consumers to adopt austerity measures in the use of petroleum products, considering the ongoing surge in global market prices.
