A total of eight individuals have been arrested in Nepal on charges of disrupting social harmony, according to the police. Five were arrested from Siraha and three from Dhanusha.
The arrests come after a clash between two groups in Devanagunj, Sunsari, on Sunday, which has led to unrest in the Madhesh region. The incident has also affected other areas, including Biratnagar in Morang, and has spread to Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, and Parsa.
Given the recent improvement in the security situation, the Nepal Police Headquarters has deployed senior police officials to various provinces and districts to effectively maintain peace and security.
