Nepal’s President Discusses Madhes Crisis with First President and Vice-President

Nepal’s President Ram Chandra Paudel has held discussions with the country’s first President, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, and first Vice-President, Paramananda Jha, regarding the ongoing crisis in the Madhes region.

The meeting, which took place at the President’s residence in Shital Niwas on Friday, focused on the recent violent incidents in various districts of the Tarai-Madhes region, including Sunsari’s Devanagari Gaunpalika and Kapatanj. The President expressed concern over the situation and emphasized the need for maintaining social, religious, and ethnic harmony, as well as national unity.

According to Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel, the President stressed that all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society, religious leaders, and the general public, must work together to resolve the crisis. Dr Yadav suggested that the government should take the lead in resolving the issue by involving all political parties, civil society, and the general public.

This meeting follows a similar discussion between President Paudel and Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Thursday, where the President urged the Prime Minister to seek the support of all stakeholders in resolving the crisis.
