Nepal’s Newly Appointed Election Commissioners Take Office

Nepal’s newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner, Man Bahadur Karki, and Election Commissioners Garud Prasad Bagale and Dr. Rajiv Suvedi, have taken office.

Following their appointment, the Election Commission held its first meeting, which decided to prioritize various tasks related to election reforms.

The meeting decided to prepare a draft of the unified election management regulations in line with the Unified Election Management Bill currently under consideration in the parliament.

Additionally, the commission decided to prepare a concept paper on the use of modern information technology in elections and to implement a special program to make the voter list error-free, up-to-date, and reliable.
