A 15-year-old boy has been killed in a shooting incident in Golbazar, Siraha, according to local authorities.
Ganesh Yadav, a resident of Aurahi village municipality, died after being shot during a protest in the area, said Surendra Paudel, the chief district officer of Siraha.
“We have received information that Yadav died from a gunshot wound, but we are still investigating who fired the shot,” Paudel said.
The incident occurred when protesters blocked the East-West Highway by burning tires and demonstrating in the area.
The district administration office in Siraha has imposed an indefinite curfew in the Golbazar area starting from 2 pm today.
Protesters have continued their demonstrations in various parts of the area following the incident.
