Special Peace Prayers Held in Lumbini Amidst Unrest

A special peace prayer ceremony was held in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, on Friday, amidst the recent unrest and violence in the country. The event, organized by the Lumbini Development Fund, aimed to promote social harmony, religious tolerance, and national unity.

The ceremony, held at the Mayadevi Temple premises, featured Buddhist monks from both Theravada and Mahayana traditions reciting prayers for peace and tranquility. The monks also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in recent conflicts and violence, and prayed for lasting peace, tolerance, and harmony in the country.

Bhikshu Sagar Dhamma, one of the participating monks, emphasized the importance of unity, mutual respect, and coexistence among Nepal’s diverse communities. He noted that Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, comprising various ethnic groups, languages, and religions, should be celebrated and strengthened.

The event was attended by prominent Buddhist monks, including Bhikshu Sagar Dhamma, Bhante Chandrabhushan, and Kalpana Harijan, acting chief of the Lumbini Cultural Municipality, among others.

The ceremony was a call for peace and harmony in the country, which has been experiencing unrest and violence in recent times. The organizers hoped that the event would help promote a sense of unity and tranquility among the people.
