Nepal’s Hindu and Muslim Leaders Unite to Promote Social Harmony

Hindu and Muslim leaders in Nepal have issued a joint appeal to maintain social harmony and peace in the country.

The appeal, signed by prominent leaders from both communities, emphasizes the importance of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and national unity.

Expressing concern over recent incidents that have threatened social harmony, the leaders have urged the government to conduct a fair investigation and take legal action against those involved in unlawful activities.

They have also called for necessary relief, compensation, and free medical treatment for the affected families and victims.

The joint statement warns against attempts by some groups to spread violence in the name of religion and urges citizens to remain calm and avoid provocative activities that could disturb social harmony.

Highlighting the core principles of religion, the leaders have emphasized that no religion teaches discrimination or hatred towards other faiths.

The appeal has been signed by Ram Chandra Tiwari, General Secretary of the World Hindu Federation, Nepal; Maulana Mohammad Khalid Siddiqui, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Nepal; Rajuraj Fuyal, Secretary of the World Hindu Federation, Nepal; and Maulana Nazrul Hasan Falahi, President of Al Salam Society.

The leaders have urged all Nepalis to stand firmly for peace, religious tolerance, the rule of law, and national unity, and to reject all forms of violence, hatred, and divisive activities.
