New Rule for Nepali Migrant Workers Comes into Effect

A new rule has come into effect for Nepali migrant workers, requiring them to provide a detailed job description, also known as a ‘job description’, before leaving the country.

The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security made the decision on Ashar 13, 2083, making it mandatory for all migrant workers to provide a detailed description of their job, including the nature of work, salary, and other benefits.

The ministry aims to make the certification process of employment contracts between employers and workers more effective and transparent.

With the new rule, migrant workers will have to provide clear information about the type of work they will be doing abroad as part of the labour approval process.

The ministry expects this move to protect the rights of workers, reduce labour exploitation, and minimize problems related to differences in work after arriving abroad.
