Nepal’s Prachanda Calls for Impartial Probe into Kapilvastu Incident

Nepali Congress Party (NCP) leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has demanded an impartial investigation into the recent incident in Kapilvastu’s Kapilbastu, calling on the government to reveal the truth.

Speaking during a special time allocation in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Dahal emphasized the need for a thorough study to determine why the situation in Kapilbastu escalated to the point of gunfire.

He stated that the political leadership should take responsibility for the anarchy that occurred during the incident. Dahal also criticized Prime Minister and Home Minister for not showing the necessary sensitivity towards the incident.

He urged the government to pay special attention to maintaining social harmony, citing the country’s overall political situation as not being normal. Dahal expressed concern that the recent events could further complicate the country’s situation.

‘The country’s overall political situation is not normal. The government has not been able to move forward as per the people’s expectations expressed through the elections. The government’s activities have not been able to meet the people’s expectations,’ he said.

Dahal emphasized that the political leadership should take responsibility not only for good work but also for any untoward incidents.
