Nepal Finance Minister Forms Committee to Negotiate with Microfinance Victims

Nepal’s Finance Minister, Dr. Swarnim Wagle, has formed a committee to negotiate with microfinance victims who have been protesting for some time. The committee, led by Mahesh Acharya, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, was formed on Thursday.

The committee includes Binod Kumar Bhatterai, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Suresh Panthi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ramu Paudel, Executive Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank. Bolraj Acharya, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as the member secretary of the committee.

Finance Minister Wagle has directed the committee to start negotiations with the protesting microfinance victims immediately. The committee’s first meeting is scheduled to take place at the Ministry of Finance.
