Karki was unanimously approved by the parliamentary hearing committee on Wednesday and took the oath from Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma at the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Despite being recommended as the Chief Election Commissioner by the Constitutional Council, Karki’s profile and position are still featured on the Supreme Court’s website.
New Commissioners Take Oath
After taking the oath, Commissioner Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to two other election commissioners, Guruprasad Wagley and Rajiv Subba.
