Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has demanded that the government take full responsibility for the incident in Sunsari’s Devanagunj village municipality-3, Kaptaangunj.
Congress chief whip, Basanta Thapa, made this demand during the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, calling for a fair and credible investigation into the incident.
Thapa criticized the Prime Minister and Home Minister for remaining silent after the incident, and questioned why the situation had escalated to the point where lives were lost.
She also appealed to all Nepalis to unite in favor of tolerance and peace, stating that no one’s instigation, rumors, or politics of hatred should be allowed to disrupt social harmony.
