Vice-President Ram Sahaya Yadav has expressed serious concern over the recent incidents in Sunsari and other districts, appealing for peace, harmony, and restraint.
Referring to Nepal’s diversity as a shared asset, he emphasized the importance of unity, tolerance, brotherhood, and social harmony, urging all citizens to adopt restraint, avoid violence and clashes, and exhibit responsible behavior.
He noted that the path to resolving any problem lies in peaceful dialogue and requested all parties to present their demands and views in a restrained manner.
The Vice-President also urged local administration, religious leaders, and civil society to create an environment of trust through mutual coordination.
He cautioned against the spread of misleading information, rumors, and hate speech on social media during sensitive times and requested the media to disseminate news in a factual and restrained manner.
Yadav stated that protecting national unity and social harmony is a shared responsibility of all, and appealed to the government, political parties, civil society, and all citizens to work together to find a peaceful and effective solution to the problems that have arisen.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Vice-President expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life in the incidents and paid tribute to the deceased.
He also expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of injured citizens and security personnel, expecting the concerned authorities to provide effective treatment.
