A protester who was killed during clashes with police in Siraha has been flown back to his village for cremation. Ganesha Yadav, who was shot during a demonstration in Golbazar on Thursday, was taken to his home in Aurahi village in a helicopter on Saturday evening.
His body was taken to the village after post-mortem examination at a hospital. The family has planned to perform the last rites according to Hindu tradition on the banks of the Gagan river.
Yadav’s death sparked widespread outrage and protests in the country. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung visited Yadav’s family on Friday night and agreed to an eight-point agreement with them.
