A man who had been on the run for 17 years after being convicted of murder in Nepal has been arrested by police.
Rajesh Rana, 35, also known as Tuku, was arrested in Bhimdatt Municipality-11, Gaddachowki, according to DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat, spokesperson for the District Police Office.
Rana had been sentenced to 20 years and six months in prison for the murder of 30-year-old Ram Swaroop Rana in 2066 BS (2009-2010 AD).
According to DSP Rawat, Ram Swaroop had gone missing from his home in Laxmipur on 17 Mangsir 2066 and was found dead in the Dodha River 12 days later.
Rana had been hiding in India and was brought under control from there, police said.
