Nepal Government Reaches Agreement with Families of Deceased in Devanagunj Incident

A seven-point agreement has been reached between the government of Nepal and the families of two youths who lost their lives in a clash in Devanagunj, Sunsari.

The agreement, which was formalized on Thursday night in the presence of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, addresses various demands made by the victim’s families.

According to the agreement, the government has committed to declaring Om Prakash Mehta and Jay Prakash Mehta, who died on Ashar 10, 2083, as martyrs and providing Rs 1 million in relief to each of their families.

The government has also agreed to conduct a fair and effective investigation into the incident and take immediate legal action against those found guilty.

The agreement was reached after a meeting between the victim’s families and the Home Ministry.
