A curfew has been imposed in parts of Birgunj Metropolitan City in Parsa district, effective from 5 pm today until 6 am tomorrow.
The order, issued by Chief District Officer Bholad Dahal, restricts gatherings of more than five people, meetings, rallies, and demonstrations in the specified area.
The curfew zone includes the area from Pratima Chowk Bus Park Bypass Road in the east, Tilowe Pul in the west, Ganesh Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
According to the order, the move aims to maintain peace and security in the area, which has witnessed tense situations in recent times.
The decision was made in line with the Local Administration Act, 2028.
