Bhupendra Bhandari, the former chief of Nepal’s telecom regulator, has been arrested on charges related to telecom irregularities.
According to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, Bhandari was taken into custody from Dhapakhel in Lalitpur on Thursday night for further investigation.
CIB spokesperson Police Inspector Anupam Shamsheer Jbara said Bhandari was arrested for his alleged involvement in telecom-related irregularities.
The police have stated that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
