Thousands Flock to Shiva Temples Across Nepal on Auspicious Day

Thousands of devotees thronged Shiva temples across Nepal, including the revered Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, on the third Monday of the Shrawan month, which falls on a Monday.

To facilitate the large number of devotees, the Pashupatinath Area Development Trust announced that all four gates of the temple would be open. Special arrangements have also been made for devotees traveling from afar, known as Bol Bam pilgrims.

Four separate queues have been set up for devotees to enter the temple. In addition to Pashupatinath, long queues were also reported at other major Shiva temples in the capital, including Gokarneshwar, Nageshwar, Doleshwar, and the small Pashupatinath temple at Basantapur Durbar Square.

The influx of devotees is a regular occurrence on Mondays during the Shrawan month, which is considered an auspicious time to worship Lord Shiva.
