The District Administration Office in Birgunj has urged the public to exercise extreme caution and preparedness in the face of heavy rainfall predicted by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The District Disaster Management Committee issued a statement today, warning of a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas and increased water flow in rivers due to heavy rainfall.
The committee has advised the public to identify safe shelters and open spaces, regularly monitor official bulletins and news from the Meteorological Forecasting Division, and keep essential documents and valuables safe.
Citizens are also advised to prepare an emergency kit with dry food, essential medicines, and clean drinking water, and to contact the security agencies – Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, or the District Emergency Operation Center – immediately in case of an emergency.
The District Administration Office has also urged the public to stay informed about the weather forecast and to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage.
