Nepali Congress leader Narayan Prakash (NP) Saud has emphasized the need for the current party leadership to show flexibility in order to unite the party.
Speaking to journalists at the party’s contact office in Chundevi on Saturday, Saud stated that the upcoming national convention is not meant for party division, but rather for reaching an agreement through dialogue and discussion.
He noted that there have been informal discussions with the establishment faction, but no meaningful debate has taken place yet.
Former Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka mentioned that the establishment faction has not responded to the proposal sent by him.
Party Unity Crucial
Saud stressed that party unity is crucial, especially given the current situation where the party’s vote count has decreased from 27 lakh to 16 lakh and the number of seats has dwindled from 89 to 38.
Khadka urged the leadership established by the Election Commission and the court to accommodate everyone with generosity.
