Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah has paid tribute to the climbers who lost their lives in the recent accident on Broad Peak, including renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja.
In a message posted on Facebook, the Prime Minister expressed his deep sorrow over the death of six climbers, including Purja, who were attempting to scale the 8,051-meter-high mountain in Pakistan’s Karakoram range.
Condolences to the Families
Prime Minister Shah described mountaineering as a journey that embodies courage, discipline, sacrifice, and the human spirit, rather than just a quest to reach the summit.
He noted that while mountains can bring glory to many, they can also claim lives, leaving families to mourn forever.
The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased climbers, saying that they will always be remembered for their bravery and dedication.
He also stated that the death of the six Nepali and four foreign climbers has left him stunned.
Prime Minister Shah’s message serves as a tribute to the climbers who risk their lives to conquer the world’s highest peaks.
