Nepal Stock Exchange Falls, 4 Billion in Transactions Amid Decline

Nepal’s stock market witnessed a decline on Tuesday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index falling to 2,663.18 points. According to Nepse, the market saw transactions worth around 4 billion rupees, with over 1 million shares traded.

Out of the 272 companies listed on the exchange, 58 saw their share prices rise, while 214 companies experienced a decline. Everest Color Limited’s shares saw a positive circuit, while Khanikhola Hydropower’s share price increased by 10.07%. Other companies that saw an increase in their share prices experienced a maximum rise of 5.26%.

On the other hand, companies that saw a decline in their share prices included Sapta Koshi Development Bank, whose shares fell by 11.67%. Other companies experienced a maximum decline of 6.83%.

In terms of transaction volume, Khanikhola Hydropower topped the list, with shares worth around 40 million rupees traded. Other companies saw transactions ranging from 1 million to 16 million rupees.

According to Nepse, all sub-indices fell on Tuesday, indicating a broad sell-off pressure in the market.
