Monsoon Disaster: One Dead, 20 Injured in 24 Hours

A monsoon-related disaster has claimed one life and injured 20 people in the past 24 hours in Nepal. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 34 disaster incidents were reported in 25 districts across the country from Friday morning to Saturday morning.

Among the incidents, one person died from a snake bite, while 20 others were injured. There were also 14 snakebite incidents, 11 fire incidents, six landslides, and three animal attacks, resulting in an estimated damage of Rs 2.725 million.

In addition, two roads were blocked, and 18 livestock were killed. Since the beginning of Baisakh 1, the authority has reported 4,053 disaster incidents nationwide, resulting in 196 deaths, four missing persons, and 1,291 injuries.

Over 5,188 families have been affected by the disasters.
