Kathmandu’s Kalimati Market Sets Prices for Fresh Produce

Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Development Committee has set the maximum wholesale prices for various agricultural products in Kathmandu.

According to the committee, the prices for various vegetables are as follows: large Nepali eggplants cost Rs 50 per kilogram, large Indian eggplants cost Rs 70 per kilogram, small tunnel eggplants cost Rs 25 per kilogram, long red potatoes cost Rs 51 per kilogram, round red potatoes cost Rs 52 per kilogram, and Indian red potatoes cost Rs 37 per kilogram.

Other vegetables and their prices include: local carrots at Rs 120 per kilogram, tarai carrots at Rs 80 per kilogram, local cauliflower at Rs 100 per kilogram, red radish at Rs 30 per kilogram, white radish at Rs 15 per kilogram, and long beans at Rs 40 per kilogram.

The prices for various fruits are also set: Fuji apples cost Rs 300 per kilogram, Nepali bananas cost Rs 300 per dozen, Malbhog bananas cost Rs 200 per dozen, and watermelons cost Rs 70 per kilogram.

The committee has also set prices for other products, including fish and meat. The prices are subject to change based on market conditions.
