An elderly man was killed in a road accident in Jhapa district on Monday morning. According to the District Traffic Office, Jhapa, a pickup truck with license plate number Me 1 Cha 5104 hit 70-year-old Pralhad Shivakoti, a resident of Kankai-4, while he was crossing the road at Kothihom in Kankai Municipality-4.
The accident occurred on the East-West Highway, and Shivakoti, who was seriously injured, died on the way to Biratnagar for treatment, police said. The pickup truck and its driver have been taken under control by the police.
