Normalcy Returns to Siraha, Curfew Remains in Golan-Bazaar Area

Siraha’s Golan-Bazaar area has seen a return to normalcy since Friday morning, although a curfew imposed in the Golan-Bazaar-Lahan area remains in effect until further notice, according to the administration.

Despite the improvement in the situation, the East-West Highway has seen reduced traffic and pedestrian movement since morning. The Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Army have tightened security measures on the highway and at sensitive locations.

The Nepal Army has increased surveillance on the main roads and alleys in Golan-Bazaar, monitoring the entry and exit points of various villages. Security personnel are patrolling the highway from Chowarva to Gagan Khola in Golan-Bazaar, ensuring compliance with the curfew.

While security forces are urging citizens to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, those with essential work are being allowed to proceed to their destinations after questioning. Meanwhile, some protesters have re-emerged on the East-West Highway in the Kusaha area of Siraha, where the curfew is not in effect. They have been burning tires and staging protests on the road.
