Nepse Drops 1.20 Points as Market Sees Rs 4.57 Billion in Transactions

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 1.20 points on Monday, closing at 2,684.33 points.

Despite the decline, the market saw a significant increase in transactions, with a total of Rs 4.57 billion changing hands. This is a 0.04% increase compared to the previous trading day.

A total of 349 companies were traded on Monday, with 63,648 transactions taking place. The sensitive index, which measures the performance of large-cap companies, rose by 0.49 points to close at 470.63 points.

The float index and sensitive float index also saw gains, rising by 0.07% and 0.11% respectively.

In terms of sectoral performance, the commercial banking group saw a 0.26% increase, while the development banking group rose by 0.23%. The finance group, however, fell by 0.29%.

The hotel and tourism group saw a marginal increase of 0.01%, while the hydropower group remained unchanged. The life insurance group rose by 0.09%, while the manufacturing and processing group fell by 0.57%.

The Everest Color Limited saw the highest gain of 14.99% on Monday, while the Reliance Spinning Mills Limited saw the largest loss of 7.40%.

In terms of transaction value, the Reliance Spinning Mills Limited was the top gainer, with a total transaction value of Rs 276.28 million. The Global IME Bank Limited was the top loser in terms of transaction volume, with a total of 738,612 shares traded.
