Nepal’s Kalimati Market Sets Prices for Fresh Produce

Kalimati Market Development Committee has set the maximum wholesale prices for various fresh produce items in Nepal.

According to the committee, prices for various items have been set as follows: large Nepali eggplants at Rs 50 per kilo, small tunnel eggplants at Rs 30 per kilo, red potatoes at Rs 52-57 per kilo depending on the variety, white potatoes at Rs 35 per kilo, dried onions at Rs 57 per kilo, local carrots at Rs 110 per kilo, and tarai carrots at Rs 80 per kilo.

Other items include local cauliflower at Rs 100 per kilo, red radish at Rs 30 per kilo, white radish at Rs 20-30 per kilo depending on the variety, long beans at Rs 50-60 per kilo, and green beans at Rs 70-120 per kilo.

The committee has also set prices for various leafy greens, including rayo sag at Rs 200 per kilo, palungo at Rs 200 per kilo, tori ko sag at Rs 150 per kilo, and green onions at Rs 150 per kilo.

Fruits such as Fuji apples are priced at Rs 300 per kilo, Nepali bananas at Rs 300 per dozen, and grapes at Rs 200 per kilo. Other fruits include watermelon at Rs 70 per kilo, pomegranate at Rs 500 per kilo, and avocado at Rs 800 per kilo.

The prices of various spices and herbs have also been set, including ginger at Rs 230 per kilo, garlic at Rs 150-240 per kilo depending on the variety, and green chilies at Rs 80-200 per kilo.

Prices for fish and seafood have also been set, with dried fish priced at Rs 1000 per kilo and fresh fish at Rs 300-340 per kilo depending on the variety.
