Nepal Police Arrest 36 for Allegedly Disrupting Social Harmony

Nepal Police have arrested 36 individuals from five districts in the Madhes region on charges of disrupting social and communal harmony.

According to the Police Headquarters, the highest number of arrests were made in Dhanusha district, with 18 individuals taken into custody. Eight people were arrested in Sarlahi, five in Siraha, two in Mahottari, and one in Parsa.

Increased Security Measures

The arrests come after a surge in incidents affecting social and communal harmony in various districts of the Tarai-Madhes region in recent days. To maintain social peace, security, and harmony, the police have intensified security surveillance and legal action.

The police have urged all citizens not to engage in any activities that disrupt social and communal harmony and to abide by the law. They have also emphasized the need for cooperation from all to maintain social unity and mutual harmony, promoting the message of ‘unity in diversity, our identity’.
