A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court, seeking the release of Durga Prasai, who was allegedly detained by the police in an unlawful manner.
Prasai was arrested from his residence on Sunday night. His wife, Uma Prasai, claims that her husband was detained illegally and has demanded his release.
The petition was registered at the Supreme Court on Monday, according to Arjun Prasad Koirla, the court’s spokesperson.
